Windows Server 2008 亦新增了許多方便管理、部署及維護等的能力，並且首次引入了全指令化管理系統 Server Core (伺服器核心)，在不需要圖形使用者介面 (GUI) 或者大量伺服器資源的情況下，減少使用者介面資源消耗，將更多的系統資源分配給伺服器，讓伺服器組件可以有更多的資源空間來應用及運算，無形中可以讓伺服器發揮出更大效能，讓企業得益。
MCITP : Enterprise Administrator 是 Microsoft 認證系列中最高級的證書，要求考生必須先取得 MCTS Windows 7 及三科 Windows Server 2008 認證外，還要通過 Server Administrator 及 Enterprise Administrator 的 PRO 級考試，才可取得 MCITP – Server Administrator 及 Enterprise Administrator 專業資格。
